Swiss Hockey U16 Girls & Boys am 3T

It’s that time again: after the national training sessions in August and the first regional training sessions, the first highlight for our U16 Girls & Boys National Team is coming up: the legendary 3T – Talent Treff Tenero. A week at the Swiss Olympic base camp in Tenero.

Our boys & girls do not only meet country hostellers. girls not only meet country hockey talents from other clubs, but also talents from other sports. Around 550 young athletes from 29 different sports have come to train for a week in a unique environment, exchange ideas and experience the Olympic values of top performance, respect and friendship.

In addition to the supporting programme and workshops organized by Swiss Olympic, the 40 girls and boys from Swiss Hockey had to complete intensive and focused training. Every day about 4 hours on the field. In wind and weather – this week with a lot of thunderstorms and almost constant rain as well as autumn temperatures. But that didn’t deter our U16 juniors.

Under the guidance of Jair Levie (Head of Competitive Sports and National Coach Men), Matthias Schaeben (Project Manager Young Talent and Head Coach U18 Girls) and the two assistant coaches Thijs Spaink and Alain du Plessis, the technique was refined, the tactics perfected and the physical skills developed. In addition to thanks to our coaches, a big thank you also goes to Christine Römer, who as team manager organized, coordinated and helped in the run-up to and on site.

Enthusiasm, team spirit and commitment – these experiences at the 3T have welded the U16 juniors together as a team. One Team. One Dream.
