In the past, there have been sporadic opportunities to train with the national team here and there.
The positive feedback from the juniors, parents and clubs prompted the association to launch the “Swiss Hockey Clinics”.

The Cubs have the opportunity to offer their juniors professional clinics at the highest level. The Swiss Hockey Clinics are supervised by 2-3 national players. The clinics themselves usually last 1.5 hours and can therefore be easily integrated into regular junior training. The clinics can be tailored to the needs of the clubs.

“With the Swiss Hockey Clinics, we don’t just want to offer clubs the opportunity to offer their juniors high-quality training. We want to bring the children together with the national team, create closeness and enthusiasm,” says Punleuk Kam, Managing Director of Swiss Hockey.

And creating enthusiasm also works outside of regular training sessions. The Swiss Hockey Clinics can also be used for special events, e.g. trial training sessions with schools, field hockey fun with senior/parent teams, a club anniversary or even as part of a village festival where the club wants to present itself from its best side. The Swiss Hockey Clinics are a tried and tested means of attracting new children to country field hockey and the local club or promoting the sport in the region.
