An incredible year for Swiss Hockey: our 2024 highlights

The year 2024 will go down in the history of Swiss Hockey. With an impressive record of sporting successes, our association, despite being one of the smaller associations in Europe with around 2,000 members, has achieved great success on various platforms. Our national teams have shown in various age groups and disciplines that Swiss Hockey can compete at the highest level – and with exceptional success.

To celebrate all these moments, we have created an inspiring video summary that captures the highlights of our year 2024. Here are some of the key milestones that make us particularly proud:

A historic victory in the hall

The men’s national team defeated Germany 6:5 at the European Indoor Championships A-Division, a success that will remain unforgettable in our history and proves the quality of our team.

Successes in Hockey5s

U16 girls: Our young players won the bronze medal.
U16 boys: The team won silver and demonstrated their top class.
Men: At the very first Hockey5s World Championship in Oman, the men achieved an impressive 10th place out of 16 participating nations. And at the Hockey5s European Championships in Walcz they won the bronze medal

Field hockey qualifications

Both the men’s and women’s national teams have qualified for the European Championships B-Division 2025. The women have secured the B level for the first time in 13 years.

Promoting young talent at the highest level

Our U21 boys secured their place at the European Championships A-Division in 2026 and qualified for the Junior World Championships 2025 at the same time.

These successes are not only the result of hard training and great commitment from our athletes, but also the tireless support of our entire Swiss Hockey network. Coaches, officials, families and fans have worked together to make 2024 a year we can all be proud of.
