Furious!

The Swiss U21 national team attracts attention in the local media at the International Hockey Federation (FIH) Junior World Cup in India

After the first clear preliminary round victory over the selection from Oman, the second game was against the team from Chile. In the midst of the approaching Cyclone Ditwah, the game turned into a water battle in which our Helvetic Boys had to face an overpowering Chile. With an excellent corner-goal conversion and a strong defense, it was clear after 60 minutes: Chile failed to overcome the Swiss “Alpen Réduite”. And after two games unbeaten, our boys are number two in Group B, behind India.

“It’s an incredible feeling,” said Jens Flück, captain of the Helvetic Boys. “For us, the game against Chile was almost like an (early) final.” Jair Levie (national coach) added: “It couldn’t have been better. … We showed a lot of ambition and fire. (With the support of the fans in the stadium) it felt like a home game!”

On December 2, 2025, the biggest challenge and honor of the Swiss national field hockey team awaits: our Helvetic Boys will face India, the host and 8-time Olympic champion, in front of thousands of fans, in front of an audience of millions in India and worldwide.

However the match against the Indian giants ends: we will finish the preliminary round in second place. The dream then continues in the final rounds. Who our boys meet there depends on the results of the other groups.

But one thing is clear to everyone: we are the underdogs. We have no chances. But we’ll make the most of them.

That’s why I’m calling on the entire Swiss Hockey Family: Be there. Cheer with your boys. Suffer with your boys. Stand by them. Don’t leave them alone. Let them know: “You never walk alone”!!!
