Successful J+S leader course in Lucerne and Geneva:

29 new coaches for Swiss Hockey.

The annual Swiss Hockey Y+S Leaders Course took place in Lucerne in March – a total of 15 new coaches successfully obtained their diploma. The participants underwent an intensive training program under the dedicated guidance of Silvia Gerig, who is responsible for training at Swiss Hockey, and the Y+S experts Peter Fischbach, Paul Schneider and the new experts Bas de van der Schueren and Jaïr Levie.

The course lasted two blocks of three days each and covered a wide range of topics relating to being a coach. Theory was specifically combined with practical units: The participants were regularly on the pitch themselves, designing training sessions and reflecting on them together.

This approach in particular underlines the character of the coaching profession as a field of experience: learning by doing – reflecting and adapting remains the central starting point for sustainable development. The new generation of coaches was thus able to acquire valuable skills and practical tools to promote young players in the clubs in an even more targeted and professional manner in the future.

The participants of the course were:

Bäschlin Mats (Zürichsee Hockeyteam)
Caspar Klaus (Red Sox Zurich)
Duffner Hanna (Rotweiss Wettingen)
Eichenberger Cedrix (Rotweiss Wettingen)
El Allaly Hasna (Rotweiss Wettingen)
Eugster Andrin (Basler HC)
Fischbach Max (Rotweiss Wettingen)
Hissen Constantin (Luzerner SC)
Kapura Artem (Basler HC)
Meier Fiona (Rotweiss Wettingen)
Puthod Loic (Lucerne SC)
Ribaudo Mattia (HC Olten)
Rutishauser Marius (Luzerner SC)
Schorno Tabea (Rotweiss Wettingen)
Wickart Yaron (HC Olten)

Fortunately, for the first time in three years, a leadership course for clubs in western Switzerland was held in Geneva. Demand was correspondingly high. Under the expert guidance of Y+S expert Gabriel Tuscher, a further 14 coaches will complete their basic training at the end of April.

We are very happy, to have found a partner in French-speaking Switzerland in the form of the Geneva Sports Office so that we can once again offer regular leadership courses.

Congratulations to the new Y+S instructors:
