At the Collège de Perrosalle in Ollon, students were offered three days of taster sessions in country field hockey
The birth of a new country field hockey club?

The Collège de Perrosalle organized three introductory field hockey events on 13, 14 and 20 November, in which a total of 74 students from different grades took part. This initiative is part of an ambitious regional project aimed at promoting the practice of field hockey in Chablais and increasing the presence of this still little-known sport in schools.
A dynamic and enriching introduction
The sessions took place at the Collège de Perrosalle, Chemin du Collège 14 in Ollon. For the vast majority of pupils, this was the first time they had been able to try out a new, fast and accessible sport. Remarkably, almost 80% of the children did not know field hockey, which is why a short video introduction was necessary to introduce this international sport and its main rules before putting it into practice.
Thanks to everyone involved
The event was made possible thanks to the support of:
- Karine Ven (Swiss Hockey, Board of Education & Development)
- Marc-Anthony Anner (Director of the Ollon-Villars-Gryon primary and secondary school)
- Pascal Richner (Head of Physical Education)
- Maria Soledad and Steven (experienced field hockey coaches)
Their collaboration enabled the event to run smoothly, safely and in line with the students’ needs.
And now? After this successful event, which the pupils enjoyed on all three days, several projects are already in the pipeline:
- February 2026: Introduction of an elective school subject (SSF) for field hockey.
- June 2026: Creation of the Chablais Hockey Club, a new local club open to young people in the district.
- Search for partners: one or more sponsors are actively sought to support the initial costs (club creation, purchase of equipment, jerseys, material).
These measures aim to offer interested students a structured and sustainable framework while strengthening the presence of rural field hockey in the Chablais region.
Anyone who would like to help get the Chablais Hockey Club off the ground is more than welcome to contact karine.ven@swisshockey.org.
